First Snow Fall

On June 9, 2008, in posts, by Michael

So I’ve known for sometime that I have needed winter tires and rims for my car. What I wasn’t counting on was all this snow to fall the same day I had planned to get it done. In a way this makes me no better than all the others idiots that wait until the last minute.

In my own defense, I had financial constraints which prevented me from doing it sooner. Of course there was some procrastination on my part.

So I called and got a quote but was told they were so busy that most people were leaving their cars overnight in order to get their car looked at the next day. I decided this was the best plan for me as well.

With a firm plan of attack, I went outside and cleaned all the snow off my car. However upon trying to leave I discovered my current tires didn’t have what it took to even get me out of the drive way.

Initially this seemed like a real pain in the ass. However after going for a walk in the freshly falling snow, I was glad I didn’t try and go. Cars were every where and most not moving an inch.

Traffic was at a standstill, traffic lights were out and the smell of burning rubber filled the air. Ah winter is here. Needless to say I took my car in the next day and still had to leave it overnight. I’m expecting to get it back sometime today… Hopefully.
