That’s right, we’re outta here, at the end of April and I can’t wait. As I am certainly sick of living in this basement apartment.
Why am I moving you may ask? Well lets look at the pros and cons of staying in my current place.
Pros:
- I’m really close to work
Cons:
- I’m really close to work
- No deck!
- I’m on the street in a basement apartment.
- Waking up to a whipper snipper or lawn mower outside my bedroom window.
- Having dirt blown into my apartment from a lawn mower or whipper snipper.
- Skate Boarders, shopping carts, noisy drunks and motorized scooters on the sidewalk going by.
- Ants and silver-fish.
- Size.
- Heat, it was so hot in this place last summer, and because its on the bottom floor, we had keep the windows closed when we weren’t here.
Well needless to say, there are far more reasons than that, but thats enough for me. Frankly this should be a very pleasant lifestyle change for all of us. Its something I am looking forward to, so if you find yourself with some time off at the end of April…
Well, I had one hell of a weekend. First my only day off was Saturday followed by a crazy snow storm that although I knew was coming, really surprised me.
Watching the snow come down on Friday night was crazy. Saturday and my only day to sleep in started out pre 6am with the damn fire alarm going off. Good news everyone, for it seems it doesn’t wake me up. Instead my girlfriend woke me.
So once up and out of bed, we put our winter gear on and headed outside. It was still crazy cold out with snow everywhere. We waited with a few neighbors only to discover later on that someone pulled the fire alarm. Gotta love the university shit heads in the building.
So with that it was time to head back to bed. Waking up later on only to discover the weather had shifted and it was 10 degrees outside. With all the snow melting, I enjoyed what was left of my day off. Sunday it was time to head back to work.
At work I headed outside to the parkade where I often go to have a smoke. And what do you suppose I found? Well there was a plastic bag with porn dvd’s inside. I didn’t do any digging as nothing is dirtier than abandoned parking lot porno. But I was able to clearly make out one of the titles. Something along the lines of “barely legal”.
So that was my weekend, the good, the bad and the dirty. And no I didn’t take the porn, why would I, I have the internet.
Well some sad news to report. While my cat was happily playing with his green mouse in the bathroom, the unthinkable happened. It seems in a fit of joy the mouse was flung into the air and landed in the toilet.
But thats not the end of the tale. For you see after the cat moved on and the green mouse was flushed away. Being the nice guy that I am, I provided a brand new blue mouse for new adventures and fun.
The blue mouse was a hit at first, and then it happened. I was petting the cat and tossing his new mouse around for him. When for no real good reason he bit me hard. So hard he drew blood with his teeth, and it was all I could do to get him to let go.
