I have to say living in Halifax definately has its annoying moments. What with the town littered with drunken university kids, panhandlers and other local riff-raff. However during this special time of year things get a little worse.
The university kids get drunker and louder as their terms come to a close and they prepare for christmas break. The roads get heavier and heavier with traffic, hundreds of people poor in from all over to take advantage of our Walmarts, and what have you. From some unknown place rude little old ladies appear, disgruntled and shaking their heads. Getting in their way is just asking for trouble.
The general mood while seemily happy on the surface, has a dirty underbelly teaming with pissed off people. Well I for one and sick of it. Tired of people being rude for no reason. Tired of being stuck in traffic just trying to do something simple, that just last month was done without a hassle. Now I don’t want to sound like I am one of those people, I still say please and thank you, I don’t get in the way and am not bumbling around delaying others. I am often in a good mood even when others around me are not.
I guess I just can’t understand why people come here in droves to shop and are annoyed when they get here. Halifax thrives and grows by people coming here, yet it seems to bring out the worst in everyone.
Thats all the holiday bitching I am gonna do this year. Merry Christmas to all.
