Hanging the Moon

On June 8, 2009, in posts, by Michael

This weekend we were able to complete the exterior paint and do those last minute things like hang a toilet paper holder and add a latch on the inside so you can lock the door and for the most part the weather was with us.

There were some set backs however as Friday night brought rain and destroyed the first coat of red paint we had put on the door. After which we brought it inside and it was given another 3 coats of red on Saturday. Sunday being final assembly day, I think it came together rather nicely.

Finally! We’re finished! This project took 6 weekends of effort from hole digging to hanging the moon, but at last it has been completed.

See all the posts, from start to finish.

What’s next, how about that pesky skylight…

    Hey Mike.
Just surfing around and remembered that you had this website. Your pics and record of the outhouse-building process is great. Heather and I are actually vacationing in Victoria BC. We’re having a great time… not sure that the fact I am spending time with ‘how to build your own outhouse’ info actually reflects that, but…
I hope that the Halifax humidity is gone when we get back in 10 days.
    Cheers!
    C.

This is really helpful. You focused on some of the more practical issues. Pictures are great. Really like to drum liner idea. I found great plans from Cottage Life, your ideas related to the hole and base will be useful.
